ILLUSIONIST JACKSON RAYNE COMPLETED DEADLY ESCAPE- SHACKLED INSIDE A BAG, LOCKED IN A COFFIN, BURIED 10 FEET UNDERWATER WITH NO AIR

Salem, OR, Nov. 7, 2003 - 22 year old illusionist Jackson Rayne trained for weeks to be shackled inside a canvas bag, locked in a coffin, and buried 10 feet underwater. Jackson had to escape his shackles, and pick the locks on his bag and coffin before running out of air - risking injury or even death. Rayne put his life on the line Friday, November 7, at Sparks Pool of Willamette University at 7:30 p.m.

"It's was a scary thing...It was an incredible rush of adrenaline, fear, and excitement."

Rayne and his creative team initially designed the stunt with the intent of locking him up in chains and attaching a 25 pound weight. Going against the advice of close friends, Rayne decided that he wanted a greater challenge. He wanted an escape that presented the fear of claustrophobia and the fear of drowning all in one. Adding a canvas bag and wooden coffin achieved just that.

Jackson's shows are geared towards a family audience and all ages are encouraged to attend.
